GAMESDEN

"This page is Under Construction"

This page is the introduction to a report surrounding a chapter of my life called "GamesDen"

The reason for this is it covers a period of about 18 months in my life where I moved from one stage of a journaey to another . the text ,images and media files are for private use only and not to be used by any other person in any other way for any other reason. The GamesDen name and all GamesDen images are owned and copyright Eon technologies 2000 This chapter is intended for use as my own reference in years to come. "As is the much of the rest of this sitee site :)"

After The end of the business plans for Amac Enterprises and Gameznet I sent out many resumes and job aplications, As a result I was employed by a very respectable Perth ISP callen Omen Internet which led to a job with an even bigger ISP called iinet. After waht was for the most part a very rewarding year and a half working as a telephone tech support person for 2 of Perths pioneering ISP's I eventually realised that it was not fulfilling me at all anymore although it provided me some great experience. I really wanted to do somthing more creative and active and being tied to a computer and a phone was more hurting me than it was helping me.
I told the management of some of my ideas and concepts of Gameznet and was happy to have been able to at least take the ideas to someone who could make it happen if they saw some value in it.They showed some interest however the cost factor meant it was not somthing they could explore at that moment in time. Things weren't really going very well at all for me financially after being through such a hard time in 99, the ISP jobs had been a saviour and I learned a tonne of stuff about computers and how an ISP and all the equipment works. It paid ok compared to what I had received in the past considering there was no real hard yakka like when I was house painting and brickies labouring. It was defintaley better than those jobs. I was still trying to make things up for a lot of damage caused to Natasha and my own lifestyle due to my bad business partnership and with a heap of new responsibilities to carry with a home and a baby I was under increasing presure to bring home the bacon.
The working conditions that an internet phone support person has to work under are very stressful especially in a large ISP and far from the ideal job. Dealing with some really dificult people on the phone day after day began to get to me in the end. Right about hte time n I was giving consideration to leaving the position I got an unexpected phone call by someone who had recieved my resume and job application more than a year ealier, That man was Bill Yeo.

Bill was the owner of a small ISP which he had started a few years before. He was located across the road from the Amac Enterprises "shop" in Osborne Park. a few years earlier.

Eon was moving up in the world to bigger and better premises in East Perth. William had kept hold of my resume and letter for some time and expressed an interest in the games angle and remembered the shop in Osborne Park. I told him a brief summary of the history of Gameznet and he told me his own history. Bill offered me a position with his company Eon Technology on a full time basis. The pay would be slightly less than what I was on at the larger ISP, but the position was secure and being full time it meant paid holidays, superanuation, and sick leave. somthing I had not had for a long long time as I was on the payroll as a casual employee at the larger ISP. To concrete the deal he wanted me to head up the creation of a gaming section, along the lines of what I had previouslly been atempting to do when I began Gameznet.

The Completestory of my time with Eon Technologies can be found from the "my Journal" link in the table Below.
