To adjust your screen resolution in Windows 95/98 2000, XP

Using your mouse: Right Click a blank area of your desktop

Select "Properties" from the drop down menu that appears

Click on the "Settings " Tab at the top of the Display Properties box

Look for the slider to change the resolution /screen area

slide it so it reads 1024x768
you should be given a warning message that windows is about to change your settings , click ok and select yes if everything looks OK -
your now in 1024x768 close this window to return to Gameznet in High Res Glory!

If your computer asks you to shutdown before changes you can safely follow the instructions,

IF YOUR COMPUTER CANT START AFTER THIS CHANGE
if your screen is not viewable when it reboots you cannot view this high a resolution and need to set it slightly lower. In this case restart your computer and Hit the "F8" keyboard on your keyboard as it reboots (during the black screen with the memory count etc)
Timing is crucial here so just tap the key until you get a menu
Select safe mode from the menu and hit enter on your keyboard
When windows starts up in safe mode go back into the display properties as described above and set your display slider to a lower resolution, Try 800x600 if that does not work for you then you will need to reset it back to where you started. Restart your computer.

If your monitor or video card can not perform this task try it again only setting the resolution to 800 x 600

If you cannot get that setting either then you really should take a look at upgrading your monitor and or video card as soon as possible go and get yourself a higher resolution monitor because your missing out on the real experience!..

You may simply require a newer video card which you can get for under $40 for a basic one that will be more than adequate for these screen resolutions and high colour settings. If your problem is your monitor you may need to hunt your self down a second hand hi resolution monitor . You can pick up a good 15 or 17 inch monitor for under $50 or around $120 buck brand new if you look hard enough, so do yourself a favour and make sure you can at view 1024x 768!
